Welcome!
I’m Elizabeth Cox
My passions live at the intersection of philanthropy, fashion, and event planning. Throughout my time in the Fashion Merchandising program at Virginia Commonwealth University, I have catered my skills and interests into the Fashion Event Planning sector.
”Stay afraid, but do it anyway. What’s important is the action. You don’t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the confidence will follow.”
- Carrie Fisher
Ever since a young age, I have aspired to work in fashion. I saw my goal, not my journey. Throughout my collegiate journey, I have found my passion for Runway Planning. For 3 years, I volunteered back-of-house for RVAFashionWeek. When I stepped into my role as Director of Social Events for my sorority, I developed and planned a variety of social events, specifically formal events. Within all of my experience, I have found my pressing urge to further my event planning skills, and eventually branch out into the luxury runway world.
My goals
Throughout my life, I have seen many loved ones struggle with Breast Cancer. In 2022, I watched my aunt lose her life to this disease. Knowing there is little change a single person can make, I pushed myself to do all I could to make a change. I stepped into the role of VP of Philanthropy and Service for my sorority. After spending nearly a year planning a ‘Philanthropy Week’, I successfully executed a fundraising week, in which we raised over $20,000 for Breast Cancer education & awareness. This broke university records for philanthropic events, raising the most money from a fraternal organization.
